When it's like this, hot and lovely and all tinsely mellow, longing for holidays abroad is a silly thing to do. Who of sound mind would want to leave this?
Today it's hard to wake up. Neither coffee nor Project Runway is doing it for me. My belly is all funny from too much beetroot salad. And Virus Syndicate is a much too loud choice.
This mix-and-match waking up isn't working for me.
Now I'll keep on drawing my tiny repetitive lines in black and white. The designs I work on for What Was Once are taking much too long and my arms and hands ache from the repetitiveness.
Still I can't get myself to quit, I love letting myself succumb to it. It's an indulgence I hope will pay off.
PS1. A new (unmastered) Colouroïd song is up and out: Amor y Neón
In another world, we're still spending a few hours at La Barceloneta, sipping red wine, watching the coastline and children practicing jumps and families playfully bodyslam each other. But if you look at it from my side of the mirror, it's a Saturday morn in Sthlm and a morning after a DJgig at El Mundo. Glenn is doing the Sleepy Cat and I watch the seagulls go against a blue blue sky.
Seagulls are eternally the same no matter where you go, aren't they?
I thought it might be interesting to follow the work of a short animation production; all the little and overwhelming chores, the administration, creativity, the ups and the downs.
Let's see if I can keep the new blog up!
And today is take off! Have I mentioned it before - Barcelona? Me going? Today? I am! Me happy. Much so.
Loveliness indeed.
PS. The photo is from my one wet Berlinian night long boxing career. Please take notice of the gloves and the moustache. I was bad.
Yesterday I was a poor girl friend, causing scenes and trouble. Today I'm hungry and tired and loving:y.
The snow, that never was gone, is back with a vengeance. I'm the happy one whereas everyone else is dreaming of spring and grass and the idea of not having to layer oneself with every item of clothing there is.
Wednesday we take off for Barcelona. Oh I can't wait. Bring me to the land of tapas posthaste, I hear it's 15°C over there... Na-na-na-naaa-na, pilutta dej!
Going through old illustrations, putting together a new print portfolio. Discovering an exploded fossil - a fossilized explosion? - in a stairwell. Cynthia Stern and DJ Leenus at Quantum Hustle, Pleasant. Going for cold walks over bumpy slippery roads, and diamonds. Putting together our first DJmix, and having brunch with friends. Strange windows displays and birds in high places.
