When times are bad

I know that The Misz song goes

This must be understood
Even bad times are good
Good enough for me
Living in my fantasy

but today I beg to differ. The no from the last money person came this morning which means that three years of work right this moment seems redundant and that all options have turned so harsh. Without for instance the support of the Film Board even if you get your film together the chances of it being screened are minimal.

One of the things the Film Board wrote in its' no is that the Swedish documentary industry is blooming. To that I just want to answer: It's a frigging miracle. To use us as an example there's no place where we can even hope to get money before January or March, and those are the same places that just turned us down.

I know I'll see things differently once the chock is over but for now I'm in mourning. And I post pretty pics from Barcelona. When times are bad dream, dream away. I wish I could live in my fantasy.

And I wish I knew why we were being turned down, other than that supporting us would be "impractical". There's got to be another reason, right?

Mythical Monday

Why not start off the Monday with (pics from) a Saturday? Glenn has for some time been practicing an exchangeable big days and small days kinda countdown of the week that's quite elaborate and complete nonsense, let this be my contribution.

Monday seems vague, even for a Monday. After the shortest eternity that was Barcelona and a week of being ill together Monday seems like something I once heard of but didn't put much faith in. But here we are again, me home alone playing office and Glenn actually at the office.

Birds, a boat and a boy

The beautiful light of La Barceloneta made me remember the beautiful light of a June day that Glenn and I spent at Vinterviken - The Bay of Winter - last summer. Red wine and my boy, what more is a girl to want?

"Nice drip."

Today is a lovely Sunday. Last night I slept soundly for the first time in a week. In our tiny flat we listen to nonsense music, Glenn is fiddling with the Flexiwaves site and I pretend work on my animation. Yesterday was poor art and watching the trains go by from a bar.

Next week I'm volunteering at Tempo Documentary Festival, ripping tickets and watching movies. I like.

En La Barceloneta

In another world, we're still spending a few hours at La Barceloneta, sipping red wine, watching the coastline and children practicing jumps and families playfully bodyslam each other.

But if you look at it from my side of the mirror, it's a Saturday morn in Sthlm and a morning after a DJgig at El Mundo. Glenn is doing the Sleepy Cat and I watch the seagulls go against a blue blue sky.

Seagulls are eternally the same no matter where you go, aren't they?

(Also, in the mirror we have a motorbike.)

Dreaming of another coast

Ever since we returned from lovely glorious Barcelona we've both been ill. The good thing about that is plenty of Glenn time and the bad thing is, well... we're ill. I'm starting to stress out a little over chores that need to be done, but I'm much too tired to do much about it. Right now I'm procrastinating going out to get work stuff, because my body says... sit.

I'm dreaming of other colours than the whites and dark greys. Not even the sun outside my window does it for me. I'm looking for the pastels; the pinks, yellows, apricots, blues and soft lilacs.

No. two on my wish list is new clothes and a haircut, I want "70's blue" jeans, candy handbags and perhaps even a jacket, such as I saw in Tokyo... I do what all financially undeveloped girls do and dream...

PS. The Flexiwaves site is up! You go, Glenn.

PS 2. Another good thing about being ill is that you handle rejection and bad news very well, since you're much too exhausted to get upset. It's not exactly a silver lining, more like a grimsweet circumstance.
